Meet The characters

Stephen Johnson


Date of Birth: June 24th 1953
Current Age In story: 56




Stephen Johnson is the oldest child of Rev Mark and Anna Johnson.His father was the Pastor of the community during  Stephen and his siblings childhood and young adult hood. He regularly attended church with his family until he graduated from High school. 


Stephen graduated from local high school as valedictorian of his class. He went on to attend Herkimer Community College where he received his Associates in business Admin. Stephen transferred his credits to Syracuse University where he pursued his Bachelors in Business Admin. Besides excelling in Academia with a passion for math and business, Stephen played sports at school, as during his leisure time. During Stephen's senior he was captain of the Varsity hockey team, and has a strong sense of loyalty to family and friends.


Anyone who knows Stephen would say that he is a diligent hard worker. His first job upon completing his college studies was a receiver of taxes for the county treasures office. In the early 1980s state budget cuts and economic downsizing caused Stephen, who was not tenured into the county system to be laid off. During this time he bought the old bait and tackle shop, with his brother in law Wesley Jones. Today their business is thriving.


Young love was no stranger to Stephen. He had one love during his early life; Amanda Callison. They dated thought high school and planned to marry in the fall of 1979. Unfortunately, Stephen and Amanda faced tremendous tragedy in their life together. The final breaking point for them was when Stephen abandoned Amanda in her time of need. Stephen chose to give his loyalty to someone other than Amanda. As a result Amanda disappeared from the mountain community. The tragic spring and summer of 1979 still haunts Stephen and fills his life with regret for what he lost so long ago. Now thirty years later it is time for Stephen to confront the demons of his past.

MEET THE CHARACTERS OF DEMONS OF THE GREAT SACANDAGA LAKE

Amanda Newman

Date Of Birth: January 31st 1955
Current Age In Story: 54

Amanda is the youngest child of John and Elizabeth Callison. Amanda had a deep bond with her maternal grandmother. As a child she would spend time at Mary's cabin where she would be safe. While at Mary's cabin Amanda learned the ways of her grandmother's people the Mohawks. Amanda's knowledge of her heritage would prove to be beneficial throughout her lifetime.

Amanda graduated from high school in 1973within the top twenty of her class. when not in school or playing sports Amanda could be found volunteering at local animal shelters taking care for the animals as well as out in the community doing community events. She also worked part time at a local nursing home. she had a strong sense of social justice and would often find herself defending those who did not have a voice to defend themselves.

Amanda had one love during her early life; Stephen Johnson. He happened to be the eldest son of the Pastor of the community church. They dated throughout Junior and senior high school and planned to marry until life expectantly changed for both of them. Amanda went on to attend Syracuse University where she pursued her Bachelor's and Masters in social work. After completing her studies in 1979, Amanda faced betrayal and more tragedy in her life. It was too much for Amanda to bear and so she left her family, friends, and the Adirondack's to begin a new life in Baltimore. MD. Now thirty years later it is time for Amanda to confront her demons.
